This layer represents locations of American Indian Reservation lands in the lower 48 states as well as Alaska. The areas include all Reservations associated with Federally recognized tribal entities.
Changes:
May 28, 2026: Two new tribes that share the Wind River reservation boundaries are Northern Arapaho Tribe of the Wind River Reservation, Wyoming and Eastern Shoshone Tribe of the Wind River Reservation, Wyoming. The tribe that has a different boundary name in the 2025 Census geodatabase is Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. Census changed it to Qualla Boundary. In addition, three reservation entities were removed due to their Census class code as "D0". See the document of "EPA Geospatial Tribal Data 2026 Update" for the details. |
