Description: The 5-year (2006 - 2010) Infant Mortality Rate data are calculated fields using existing data from the National Center for Health Statistics Detail Mortality and Natality data files, as compiled from data provided by the 57 vital statistics jurisdictions through the Vital Statistics Cooperative Program. Beginning with the 2008-2012 rates, data for any counties having fewer than 10 infant deaths per year are suppressed. The rate is per 1000 births. Rates were calculated according to the following formula:
5-Year Infant Mortality Rate = (5-Yr Infant Deaths < 1 Year * 1000) / 5-Yr Live Births
Description: The 3-year ( 2012-2014) average Low Birth Weight Rate is per 1000 births. The rate is calculate by: Low Birth Weight count / total births * 1000
